In-Hand Showing League
1st April - 31st March
The Forces Equine In-Hand Showing League gives competitors the opportunity to showcase their horse’s conformation and presence, combining affiliated and unaffiliated results into a national leaderboard. It provides a clear pathway to gain recognition, build consistent results, and work toward qualification for the Forces Equine Championships.

How this league works
Taking part in the In-Hand Showing League is simple — just follow three steps:
1. Compete
Enter eligible in-hand showing classes at recognised competitions. Classes may include youngstock, veterans, breed classes, and condition & turnout. Both affiliated and unaffiliated results count toward league standings.
2. Submit Your Results
Upload your results through the official Forces Equine system so your performance is reflected on the national leaderboard.
3. Earn Points & Progress
Points are awarded based on your placing. Accumulated points determine your leaderboard position and contribute toward Forces Equine Championship qualification.
The In-Hand Showing League operates with clear and fair rules to ensure a professional and enjoyable experience:
Eligibility
- Open to all Forces Equine community members
- Each horse-and-handler combination earns points separately
- Only results from eligible in-hand showing classes count
Points and Rankings
- Points are awarded according to placing (see table above)
- Leaderboards are updated regularly
Submitting Results
- Results must be submitted through the official Forces Equine system
- Only complete and verified results will be counted
Conduct
- Horses must be presented to a high standard of condition and turnout
- Handlers are expected to be appropriately dressed and professional in the ring
- First impressions and presentation are key in competitive showing
- Any disputes will be resolved by the Forces Equine committee, whose decision is final

Championship Qualification
Qualification for the Forces Equine Championships is based on consistent performance throughout the season:
- Accumulate Points – compete in eligible in-hand showing classes
- Consistency Counts – best results across the season contribute toward qualification
- Leaderboard Ranking – top horse-and-handler combinations qualify for the Championships
Key Notes:
- Results from both affiliated and unaffiliated competitions count
- Each horse-and-handler combination qualifies independently
- Qualification is confirmed by the Forces Equine committee prior to the Championships
This system rewards presentation, consistency, and quality performance in the show ring.
