We say goodbye to Forces Equine Co-Founder's father, late Colonel French RAMC
The last 18 months have been tough for a lot of us with losing loved ones. Unfortunately this is the same for our Co-Founder, Captain David Heath French RAMC, who's father passed away on Thursday 3rd June 2021.
Colonel Michael Timothy French gave 38 years service to the British Army, serving with the Royal Anglians and in the Royal Armoured Medical Corps (RAMC). Colonel French joined the Army as a boy at the age of 15 and worked his way to Sgt where he then joined the RAMC and continued through the ranks to Colonel including two Command appointments. Michael married Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps (QARANC) Shirley May in 1976 and later had two children David & Richard. Richard served within the Coldstream Guards & 3 Para Regt which made up a very proud military service family.
Colonel French was a proud father and grand father to his grand daughter Elise. He was very passionate about his military career and a keen sportsman, becoming the Manager of the GB Olympic Biathlon team taking them to two winter Olympics. He will be missed by so many.
We have to thank the RAMC Association for their kind words and lovely comments that so many have contributed about Colonel French. In Ardeuis Fidelus.
"We will remember him"
