We are always so very proud of our members who are out and about, not matter the level they may competing at and the last two weeks has been no exception. With PC Jenna Hastings passing out as a Mounted Police Officer with Gloucestershire Police, Team Avon & Somerset suporting Badminton and PC Philippa Wratten of Kent Police showing the Royal Windsor Horse Show what her talent with her own Ginelli Z had to offer.
PC Jenna Hastings invited Founder, Debi Heath French to her pass out as a Mounted Police Officer at Imber Court. "It was a fantastic opportunity and a proud moment to watch our Secretary achieve her dream goal" said Debi.
With Police Officers passing out into the Met & Gloucestershire Police, the level of riding was high and they all looked so smart.
Jenna has now moved to her new post and her Inspector has asked Forces Equine to follow the new Mounted Unit as it progresses. We will keep you all posted on all the goings on.
The Avon & Somerset Mounted Unit were out and about at Badminton this year showing support and ensuring all who attended were safe having a great time.

Founder Debi Heath French, attended the show in support of this pair and although it was cold and rainy the level of riding was amazing. "It's great to see our members out and about flying the flag for their Service and our organisation. To see Philippa in a class with riders such as William & Pippa Funnel, Shane Breen, Laura Renwick, Robert Whitaker & Laura Kraut, to name but a few, we still are amazed that riders have a a professional full time job and still manage to go out and give International riders from all over the world a run for their money!
Philippa competed in the 1.30m with 63 riders and came 42nd with 8 saults on a time of 40.23. The 1.35m had 43 riders, the pair came 26th with 8 faults and in a time of 78.39. They also entered the 1.40m class which had 54 riders and they came 41st with 10 faults on a time of 53.04.
In the 1.40m Philippa & Vogue beat names like William Funnell, Joseph Stockdale & Laura Kraut which just goes to show the level they are competing at. How proud we were watching her and we look forward to following the pair soon!
