Our members have been out and about this weekend flying the FE flag and bringing home some fantastic results! With the Festival of the Horse qualifier at Epworth and 3 of our members attending, PC Jenna Hastings & Katie Baxter off competing in Dressage and FEYRA rider James Matthews out showjumping with his dad, FE member Graeme Matthews REME there is so much to report on!

Report by PCSO Emma-Jo Thorpe of South Yorkshire Police
"Great day out representing FE at the area 16 FOTH qualifier. Double clear for Marley (owned by Emma-Jo) but 1.6 sec too fast for optimum time. Finishing 6th individually in the 90. Brave DC Joanne Wilson Leo "everyone needs a Leo" stormed round the 90 SJ but slipped in the XC and lost a bit of confidence, so unplaced. And PC Tracey Brown finished 3rd in the 100 on just 4 SJ faults and clear XC, which was causing a lot of problem. Flying the FE flag."

It's been a busy weekend for us. First up, Saturday the Baxter family and I went to Wing Equestrian for some dressage. This was Trusty's first proper show and Katie's first show back from being injured.Trusty competed in the Intro C and Prelim 2 and came 4th and 2nd respectively. A super result for a young horse at his first competition so I was really chuffed with him. He's still learning new experiences out and about and coped with everything really well, wearing his Forces Equine numnah with pride!
Katie and Roly competed in the Prelim 2 which they won and the Prelim 18 which they placed 10th. A great way to come back to competing together
Then on Sunday I took Trusty (solo this time) to Bury Farm for some show jumping. There was a championship show on with some open -to-all warm up classes so thought it would be great experience for him to go to a slightly busier show as well as learn to go in two jumping classes with a break on the horse box in between. He didn't disappoint and gave me two double clears at 65cm and 75cm level with an added bonus of 6th place in the 75cm.
A great weekend for both horses, really pleased with them and looking forwards to the better weather bringing more fun and games!

"James and Gerry aka Sweet Touch II won the 85 and 95 cm Laughton Manor winter league championship...we are truly proud of how far he has come ..he won 65cm on Bella last year and he is the youngest competitor on horses throughout the league ..James is looking forward to his next BS show Arena UK on the 6th and 7th of April 2018."
James father, Graeme had this to say...
"Unbelievable to think how far Jamma aka James has come in a year. From winning 65cm championships last year to the 85cm and 95cm this year at Laughton Manor. So proud of his achievement."
