FE Cops and Dodgers finished in 15th place out of 66 teams with a score of 12. Matt Culling posted an amazing clear round in the 85cm which was brilliant considering he was a last-minute replacement and he's only been competing for a few months – his smile all day afterwards said it all. James Matthews added 4 faults and a typical fast time in the 95cm which was super and finally Graeme Matthews posted 8 faults in the 105cm on his tricky horse which he should be really pleased with.
FE Avon and Somerset proved their consistency once again at this competition and placed 34th with a score of 16 faults, just being pipped to the post for top team again this year. Helen Du Heaume posted 12 faults on her 4-year-old who's only been broken in for 6 months – this was his biggest show to date and she should be super proud of him. Andrew Reynolds posted another fab clear round in the 95cm on his super consistent horse and Lindsey Pendleton added just 4 faults to the team score with a lovely round in the 105cm.
Well done to both teams and I would like to invite both to attend Hickstead 2020 as top team (Cops and Dodgers) and most consistent team (Avon and Somerset).
Commiserations go to our other two teams who sadly were eliminated – well done to all riders for going out and giving their best to this competition though and the support everyone gave each other was amazing.
I would also like to say a big thank you to Matt Culling and Lisa Hinton for stepping in last minute to replace other team members due to rider illness/injury as well as Louise Revill for offering up a spare horse as well – without this the teams would have struggled to compete and it shows what amazing members we have.

If you would like to compete at the Hickstead Riding Club Team Competition 2020, get your results in for the 90cm, 1m and 1.10m leagues as we look at the most consistent riders in these sections to select teams from. Rulings usually remain the same year to year and are as follows:
- 85cm riders must have NO British Show Jumping points (these riders are selected from the 90cm league)
- 95cm riders must have no more than 500 British Show Jumping points (these riders are selected from the 1m league)
- 105cm riders have no points limit (these riders are selected from the 1m10 and upwards leagues)
Thank you and good luck!
